Advantages of Limiting Guest Accommodation at Welgevonden Game Reserve
Welgevonden Game Reserve is a private game park in the Waterberg area of the Limpopo Province in South Africa, a veritable bushveld and nature conservation paradise, both for the wildlife that lives there, and visitors of the reserve.
Private, Access-Controlled Game Reserve
As a private game reserve, Welgevonden is not open to the general public. Consequently, there is no opportunity or access for day and casual visitors, because only guests who have made reservations, and are in possession of confirmed accommodation bookings at one of Welgevonden’s game lodges, will be granted access. Guest can access the reserve from the West Gate of the reserve.

Use of private vehicles within Welgevonden Game Reserve is not permitted at all. Our lodge guests are required to leave their vehicles at the safe, secure West Gate parking facility, from where a staff member of our game lodge, Fifty Seven Waterberg, collects them to transport them through the reserve to Fifty Seven Waterberg’s main building, where they will be warmly welcomed to the reserve, our five-star establishment, and their private accommodation suites.
Relax, Unwind, and Enjoy
Similar arrangements apply to all exclusive game lodges within Welgevonden. Once you are a guest at Welgevonden, your relaxation begins. From this point onwards, you will be taken care of and spoiled by our friendly, professional, and service-orientated lodge personnel, since you are now a welcome guest who has chosen five-star accommodation. Your only tasks are unwinding, relaxing, and enjoying the wildlife and other delights of Fifty Seven Waterberg and the Welgevonden Game Reserve.
You certainly will not miss your own vehicle. One of our knowledgeable rangers takes you in an open game viewing vehicle to the best spots to view game, twice daily. This is virtually the only and primary need for a vehicle.
In adhering to this policy, Welgevonden Game Reserve’s select group of lodges limits the number and use of vehicles. By doing so, the leisurely quality of your experience is enhanced, while the animals and the environment within the reserve benefit by having fewer, potentially intrusive vehicles travelling around within the borders of the reserve.
Accommodation – Quality not Quantity
The provision of accommodation at Fifty Seven Waterberg is focussed on quality rather than quantity. We prefer to accommodate only ten adults in total at any given time, enabling us to provide everyone with superior, exceptionally spacious, and very private accommodation suites, accompanied by outstanding, yet discreet personal service, complying with or exceeding five-star standards.
Each one of our five chalets offers panoramic views of the Waterberg bushveld and its wild inhabitants from within, and from its own private patio, ensuring that no Fifty Seven Waterberg guest misses a moment of the inimitable wildlife experience at Welgevonden Game Reserve.
