Big Five, Big Bucket-List Luxury Accommodation
When one pauses to think somewhat out of the box, it’s not only our guests at Fifty Seven Waterberg’s private 5-star game lodge that are accommodated in the lap of luxury, the animals and other wild creatures are too, including the Big Five game species – the lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant.
Where Waterberg Wildlife Lives Luxuriously
The wildlife requires relatively little to survive, but more to thrive; their luxury lies in thriving beyond mere survival. The wonderfully natural, untamed and unsullied Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, proclaimed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001, is where our luxury Big Five game lodge – Fifty Seven Waterberg – is located.
This wondrous Waterberg area has been pristine bushveld for a long, long time, and its current international heritage status ensures that it will remain so, now, tomorrow and in the future. If wildlife species were capable of logical differentiation of their living standards, they would surely view the Waterberg as being blissfully luxurious.
The Biosphere Reserve is huge, approximately or in excess of some 414 000 hectares in size. Welgevonden Game Reserve, in which Fifty Seven Waterberg, our luxury lodge and guest accommodation, was established, comprises of about 35 000 hectares of the biosphere’s territory.
Here, the Big Five, other game animals, some 50 species of mammals and more than 300 species of birds, all live in diverse, yet ideal wildlife habitat, so verdant and healthy that the terrain and flora surely must represent animal luxury.
The region is being preserved and conserved for the enjoyment and appreciation of future generations of wildlife enthusiasts, as well as the wildlife that lives and thrives here, free of the threat of human predation, excessive development and commercialisation, as well as encroachment on their precious habitat, that’s constantly dwindling throughout most other parts of Africa.
Luxury Accommodation for Big Five Enthusiasts
Today, being a committed wildlife and Big Five enthusiast who loves to take a bush break at every available opportunity, no longer automatically means roughing it in rudimentary or primitive types of accommodation options and uncomfortable living conditions, unless of course, this is what appeals to you. If so, you’re probably a member of what has become a modern minority group, one who takes pride in resisting the allure of luxury.
5 stars isn’t just good, it’s great, and it represents outstanding creature comforts, premier spacious accommodation, top-quality appointments and facilities, fine dining, exclusivity and superb services that are of the best on offer, when measured against both local and international grading standards.
Our luxurious guest accommodation suites are each at least 80 square metres in size. Like the Big Five and other wildlife at Fifty Seven Waterberg, you won’t feel hemmed in or restricted in your unit, which is located a discreet distance away from neighbouring units. Panoramic views over the natural wilderness flood freely into your accommodation quarters, seemingly unhindered and encroached upon by any man-made structures.
Dining at our luxury Big Five lodge is pure delight for the palate. For your convenience, our rates include all meals (as well as morning and evening game drives on an open wildlife viewing vehicle, accompanied by a friendly, experienced guide who loves sharing his knowledge of the Big Five and other species with guests). If you want to experience the Big Five in 5-star luxury, Fifty Seven Waterberg should be at the top of your big bushveld bucket list.
