Luxuries in the Wilderness of a Wildlife Park
Because there are so many items and concepts that may be defined as “luxury” or “luxurious”, one can label virtually anything as such, from lifestyle to motor vehicles, a meal or a wildlife park. The synonyms abound – grandeur, splendour, magnificence, lavish, extravagant, something fine and enjoyable that exceeds mere necessity, and may not always be freely available, and is therefore costly or expensive.
Our privately owned, 5-star wildlife lodge, set in our portion of the pristine Waterberg’s Welgevonden Game Reserve, certainly accommodates visitors in the lap of luxury, but with one important difference. We provide luxurious creature comforts and a luxury wildlife experience at competitive rates that are as affordable as possible, without compromising on luxury standards for guests from other countries and/or our fellow South Africans.
Today’s South African tourist offerings tend to favour visitors from abroad who earn foreign currency. The Rand’s exchange rate is currently somewhat on the weaker side of the spectrum, often to the disadvantage of South African travellers.
These days, South Africans find it expensive to travel overseas, while overseas tourists who come to this country find everything here, luxuries included, decidedly inexpensive or downright cheap. At Fifty Seven Waterberg, we do what we can to encourage and enable fellow South Africans to visit our luxury wildlife park too, alongside guests from distant countries.
Lavish Lodge Indulgence
Irrespective of one’s accepted specific definition of luxury, it represents one of life’s niceties that is sought after by everyone. Everyone loves luxury, which enhances one’s quality of life, and potentially broadens one’s range of choices and options.
Many of our guests at Fifty Seven Waterberg are very forthcoming with praise at their delight and pleasure when they find and experience the superior standards of almost all aspects of what’s on offer at our lodge and wildlife park – as standard at that, and not the occasional exception.
In order to preserve the privacy, exclusivity and serene ambience of the park, our guest numbers are limited, as indicated by the provision of only five grand accommodation suites at Fifty Seven Waterberg. Each suite is a stand-alone unit, occupying its own space, completely separate from its neighbour/s. From the main lodge buildings, suites are reached along a slightly raised wooden deck pathway, from which individual similarly constructed, lantern-lit pathways lead to each thatched unit’s decked porch and glass-paned front door.
No expense was spared in the construction, furnishings and interior décor of guest suites, which are at least 80 square metres in size. Interior finishes are true to the essence, colours, lines and textures that evoke an African luxury wildlife park experience. Early morning and evening game drives on open vehicles, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, are included in our full-board tariffs, which are quoted in ZAR, so that fellow South Africans don’t have to contend with the quirks and vagaries of a fluctuating currency exchange rate. The main building features include extensive areas and facilities for guests’ use – dining, lounging, working or relaxing, and an enormous raised deck, complete with sun loungers, day beds, and an inviting infinity swimming pool.
At Fifty Seven Waterberg, luxury surrounds you every minute of your stay, in our luxury lodge and en route through this wonderful wildlife park’s terrain
