5-Star Luxury Wildlife Accommodation
“Luxury” refers to an exclusive place, object, service, brand, or amenity that is beyond necessity, because the item or experience is superior, better, and much more desirable. It is often indicated with a star rating or grading. This includes accommodation, specifically, in our case, wildlife accommodation. We, at Fifty Seven Waterberg, offer luxurious 5-star accommodation in the heart of an untamed wildlife reserve – the last place where you would normally expect to find luxurious comforts.
At Fifty Seven Waterberg and the game reserve in which our wildlife lodge is located, Welgevonden, there is a lot of space. Welgevonden is roughly 35 000 hectares, an enormous expanse of natural, scenic beauty, where wildlife, including the Big Five, roam freely, unhindered by the trappings of man.
Our luxury guest accommodation is also exceptionally spacious. The lodge features five private chalets, none smaller than 80 m2. All are beautifully furnished in an understated, luxurious style that reflects and complements the colours and textures of Africa. Our suites typically have African wildlife or ethnic names, such as:
- Zebra
- Rooihartbees
- Nguni
- Gemsbok
- Springbok
The latter two, Gemsbok and Springbok, also serve as super luxurious honeymoon suites, since the premier privacy and superb 5-star luxury accommodation and discreet personal service is a standard feature at Fifty Seven Waterberg. These two chalets have their own, on-deck outdoor Jacuzzis, which are a honeymooner’s dream.
Dining at Fifty Seven
Scrumptious, freshly prepared meals are conjured up by our talented chef, Gabriel. Meal service takes place at the communal dining area in the main lodge building. Dining here is a pure delight, perfect for the discerning palate, the eye, and the nose. You can expect fine dining with local influence.
Sunsets, Sundowners, and Swimming
Watching the sun set over the bushveld, as the nocturnal wildlife gets ready to emerge and diurnal species begin to lay down for the night, is a uniquely memorable and romantic experience, as you sit on your private patio or the main lodge’s communal deck, with a sundowner in hand, gazing out across the landscape.
On the same spacious main building deck, guests are welcome to spend the day relaxing on loungers, in or out of the sunlight, and cooling off in the breathtaking communal rim flow swimming pool, a few metres above the wildlife habitat.
Game Drives
Game drives, in the friendly company of an experienced game ranger, take place early in the morning and during the late afternoon/early evening hours. Each lasts for about two and a half to three hours. During your time on our open wildlife viewing vehicle, you will be with no more than eight other adult guests, ensuring that your game drive is as exclusive and luxurious as your accommodation and overall wildlife experience at Fifty Seven Waterberg.
